The Social Studies Native American project serves as an engaging way to assess students on their knowledge of content while integrating the subjects of reading and writing. This project is aligned to the Common Core Standards of reading and writing, as well the social studies standards. The project was created in a packet format containing student outlines, and checklists for each aspect of the project. The student packet contains two differentiated outlines. One outline breaks down the questions and provides students with more space to write, while the other outline bundles the questions. Students will be provided with exposure to the reading of informational texts, while learning how to take notes and synthesize information. Using this project will allow students to show their creative side while researching Native American tribes.
