Product Description
This is one set of materials for the basic social studies lesson regarding needs versus wants and is most appropriate for first through eighth grade students with minimal modification needed, if any at all, but could be adjusted for many other grades. The lesson targets two principal objectives: students will be able to orally explain the difference between a need and a want using personal definitions or examples as well as students will be able to identify and classify different examples of needs versus wants with justification using magazine images or drawn pictures on a T-chart. The lesson reflects gradual release and focuses on interactive activities that directly involve students in their learning.
