Learning about the regions of Canada is required but there's so much vocabulary for students to have to navigate! I have taken the guess work out of how to teach so many vocabulary concepts AND teach the important outcomes by creating 65 posters that relate directly to the regions of Canada. These posters focus on the regions, natural resources, landforms and important First Nations groups of the different regions of Canada. Included in the poster set:
Atlantic region, aquaculture, Arctic region, bison, Beothuk, boreal forest, Canadian Shield region, climate, coal, cod, Cordillera region, cordillera, delta, diamonds, energy, factory farm, fertile soil, Great Lakes region, Haudenosaunee, hydroelectricity, Interior Plains region, Inuit, Inuktitut, jobs, Kainai, longhouse, Maliseet, Mi'kmaq, Metis, mining, muskeg, natural resource, nonrenewable resource, organic farming, oil, pemmican, perrmafrost, potash, potlatch, quality of life, renewable resource, region, sulphur, tides, tundra, uranium, urban sprawl vikings, waterways, weather, whalers, yukon and zinc.
** There is no X poster for this set.
Along with each poster, there are some double of posters when I could find a visual that I felt would enhance the understanding for the learner- there is a copy of the poster with the visual and a copy without to provide flexiblity in your class.
These posters would be great to hang up all year or to use selectively as you tackle learning about the regions of Canada. Students who need extra support could have their own copy for easy reference. Providing your students with easy to read definitions takes the guess work out of their learning and provides them a clear path to understanding the challenging concepts related to the regions of Canada.
