Are you looking for a Social Studies unit on Civics--Laws and Government, Basic American Rights, and Diversity in America--that has differentiated activities along with all the materials you need to teach the entire unit? Are you tired of just teaching from the textbook and want something different to do with your class? If so, this packet of materials is literally all that you need – an overall unit outline for 7 days of activities, interactive notes, quizzes, suggested homework assignments, class activities, and a unit test.
**If you teach in Virginia, this unit of study specifically correlates to Social Studies, SOL 3.10, 3.11(a)(d), 3.12.
This unit has been set up so that students study from interactive notebooks; a regular composition book or spiral notebook is sufficient. I grade the notebooks at the end of the unit; it encourages the children to follow directions and also gives them a chance for an “easy A” daily grade. It is, of course, optional.
You will get:
A unit outline (7 days)
Rubric for grading the interactive notebook
Study Guide questions
Study Guide answer key
Vocabulary Terms page
Interactive notes (along with teacher guides)
Review Quizzes answer keys
Unit Test answer key
Samples are provided of materials in this unit if you want to take a look. I have also listed the Lesson Unit/Timeline as a free download so you can see if this would work for you.
