After you have learned all about the state of ___________, you will be creating a parade float. Your State Float can be made out of a shoe box, or any other small to medium sized box. Parade floats are colorful and fun to look at! Use your creativity! You may use any type of paper to cover all sides of your box. You may add models, pictures, or figures to your float. Your float should represent your state. For example: A float for the state of Hawaii may be filled with small models of palm trees and hand drawn pictures of beautiful flowers.
#2 Personal Time Line Project:Social Studies project that covers many reading standards such as cause and effect, sequence, and connections. Students will create personal timelines. There is an introduction explaining the purpose of this project as well as the skills covered. There is a detailed list of 8 requirements. An example and a 4 point rubric is also included.
# 3 Cultures Unit:Outline of Learning ,What is a culture?
What makes up a culture?,Brainstorm foods and traditions in your culture.,Learn about Diwali and The Chinese New Year.
