This product is designed to complement, enhance, or enrich the lessons you are already teaching during Asian and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. Each of the five centers included here can stand alone from each other, but should not stand alone as the only source of instruction or information about this topic. Before you allow students to work in these stations, be sure you have established the routines outlined in the starter kit.
Read about it: This text is leveled to be used with on-level 5th graders. Scaffolding and other supports may be necessary for lower readers or language learners.
Write about it: You can choose for students to answer this prompt in a journal or on a separate piece of paper. There is a larger version of the prompt as well as smaller versions which can be glued into notebooks.
Fab Vocab: Students only need a pencil to complete this center, but can choose to color their drawings if you wish.
Map Genius: Prep is required for this center. Each group will need a copy of the map and access to an atlas. Colored pencils or markers are also needed and can be shared by members of the same group.
Game Time: Prep is required for this center. Each student needs a copy of the fortune teller page. They will also need to know how to fold it. Instructions are included.
