I’ve been using the superhero theme for the past five years to teach social-emotional skills to individuals and small groups. Here I’ve collected my paid superhero products from TpT, created a number of new items unique to this bundle, and added all the free superhero resources I’ve given away on my website or Facebook page. It’s a big collection.

Here’s what you’ll find:

-Who Is on Your Team? (helps students identify social supports)

-What’s Your Superpower? (boy and girl versions; meant to help students articulate their real-life superpower/personal strengths)

-Choose Your Superpowers (gain insight into your kids’ interests and in what areas they may feel vulnerable)

-New Superhero (students write and/or draw a newspaper story about themselves as a new superhero in town)

-"To the Bat Cave!" (plan for identifying a space they can go to calm down)

-page of Utility Belt Tools containing self-calming strategies to glue onto “utility belt” (description of activity is in the introduction)

-Personal Hero (help students identify people they admire in real life and consider how they might emulate them)

-15 social skills reinforcement tokens, + 5 bonus tokens geared specifically to reward positive social group behavior

-6 superhero power cards plus a desktop strategy strip to reinforce coping and behavior strategies

-“Caught Being Super” coupons (boy and girl, color and b&w)

-instructions for 12 team challenges and gym/outdoor games requiring teamwork, attention to others, good sportsmanship, and mental flexibility

-photos and samples of some of the activities I’ve done with my social superheroes, such as a group invitation letter, office bulletin board, and parent newsletters

-4 forms: 2 progress rubrics, an editable Social Superhero letterhead, and a group attendance form

***I want to be clear that this is not a set of organized lesson plans for, say, a 6-week group. I am simply providing you with a set of themed materials and plenty of activities that will inspire your creativity. I’ve found that this is a fantastic theme, as you can find a way to tie almost any social/emotional skill to the Superhero Code of Ethics and Behavior. So customize your group to the students you are serving and develop your own plan of action.***
