Soda Experiment- How much carbonation?

Soda Experiment- How much carbonation?
Product Description
Need a fun inquiry lab? Teaching the scientific method? Look no further! Students are asked to measure the amount of carbonation in a bottle of soda. There are 4 versions of this lab included to meet the needs of all students. This is great great for differentiation!

1. Easy- This experiment is great for lower grades. All students are measuring is the amount of time the soda bubbles when poured. Materials needed: Soda, beakers, and stopwatch.
2. Medium- This experiment is great for middle school. Students will measure the amount of carbonation that escapes into a balloon on top of the soda bottle. Materials needed: Soda, stopwatch, string, ruler, balloons.
3. Hard- This version is recommended for high school. This experiment measures the amount of carbonation that escapes by trapping it through a tube into a graduated cylinder. It requires more materials than the other versions. Materials needed: Soda, graduated cylinder, plastic tube (something similar to fish tank tubing) modeling clay, large container, water, and stopwatch.
4. Expert- This version allows students to come up with their own experimental design. They will need to write out their own procedures and get teacher approval before testing. The only rule is don’t make a mess! Materials needed will vary from group to group.
