This lesson integrates science and reading. Provided is a chart to use before, during, after reading, an activity, as well as pictures of this activity/lesson.
After conducting the read along and asking initial questions from the chart, the teacher can distribute the UV/Solar beads and pipe cleaners to each student. The students will be asked to observe the beads and write down their observations. They will write any ideas they have about what the mysterious bracelet will do, can do, or might do. Each student will observe his/her own bracelets throughout the day and refer back to their initial observations if they believe they have solved the mystery of the “Mysterious Bracelet.”
