This activity packet is designed with the beginning of the year kindergartner and first grader in mind.
Start off with the pocket chart activity to explain to your students what a solar eclipse is and what they'll expect to see. Included are 2 diagrams and 9 solar eclipse pictures showing the sequence of what they'll see. Use all 9 cards or pick 5 like I did for the sequencing sheet. Included also are picture cards for sun, moon and earth.
After the pocket chart activity, use the sequencing sheet to allow your students to show what they understand from the whole group.
Then take the kids outside to observe the eclipse firsthand. End with the writing sheet so the students can record in picture and words what they experienced.
Hopefully your students will have a lot to share with their parents when they ask, 'What did you do in school today?"
As always, I appreciate your feedback. You'll earn valuable TPT credits to use on a future purchase. Follow my store so you'll be notified of new products.
Thank you !
