The Solar Eclipse is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for your students! What better way to enhance their understanding of the Scientific Method than with this historic event? This file contains four items. The first is an informational sheet for teachers and parents to learn all of the necessary background on the eclipse. It breaks down the different stages of the eclipse and what you can expect to see along the way. The second item is the same informational sheet in kid-friendly language. Share this with your students and let them bring it outside with them as they witness science history! (Note: the times are based on the Missouri viewing schedule so you may need to adjust them as appropriate for your viewing zone.) The third item is a two-sided worksheet for your students to write a testable question, gather data, graph their results, and write a conclusion & reflection. Finally, this file contains a teacher example of the types of questions and data your students could collect.
