In this lesson you will use a small solar panel to measure the amount of solar energy being absorbed at different latitudes. This is part of my weather unit that covers the NGSS standard:
MS-ESS2-6: Develop and use a model to describe how unequal heating and rotation of the Earth cause patterns of atmospheric and oceanic circulation that determine regional climates.
A more detailed lesson plan in on the last few pages of the word document. When I actually teach the lesson I use graph paper for the graphs, but I have included a section to put the graph in the document. This could be used as a tiered version for some students, and other students need to make the graph on graph paper.
