Students will put their understanding of heat transfer, specifically through the lens of the zombie apocalypse, to the test by researching, designing, testing and evaluating their own solar oven! This activity is meant as a summative lab for a unit on heat transfer (conduction, convection and radiation) and can be modified based on your grade level. The activity is super hands-on, lets students get really creative and practice working in groups. The summative pairs well with the solar oven design research organizer, which can be found in my store here.
Highly recommended by students and teachers, this is a great way to end the school year, get outside and maintain rigor in the science classroom!
