This WebQuest walks students through the sun, planets, and asteroid belt of our solar system. It is identical to my other product called "Solar System WebQuest," except this version includes the key. Both are located in a zipped folder. The WebQuest is in a Word document and the key is a .pdf file.
Using the following website, http://kids.nineplanets.org/intro.htm,
kids read/answer questions about each space body and draw each body's symbol (and make up a symbol for the asteroid belt).
I use this with my 7th graders (Earth Science). It's a little long for them, so just keep that in mind- with 7th grade, they need 2 class periods. Older kids will need less. . If you have students that finish ahead of time, you can give them the following printable to color:
I offer this part as extra credit to all of my students and tell the students that the colors have to be realistic/representative of each planet.
