Solar System: Informational Article, QR Code Research Page & Fact Sort is a set of 12 informational articles
all about our solar system. These articles are full of interesting facts and details that students can use during reading and writing activities.
Includes an article about each planet, Pluto, the moon, and stars in two formats
(two-page color photos & one-page text), QR Codes
for online articles and videos and a fact sort
sheet where students can sort facts about each planet's attributes.

The articles are written at about a third / fourth grade reading level. The sentence length, structure, and vocabulary have been controlled to make the text easier for young readers to understand; however the vocabulary and concepts are still quite technical and may require more explanations beyond the text.
This product does not contain comprehension questions. It does have vocabulary cards and two note-taking guides. There are graphic organizers in the Informational Writing Tools
packet or Graphic Organizers Product
that are more specific to nonfiction writing or specific comprehension skills and strategies.
The videos are on YouTube, so be sure you can access the web site at school. There are two versions of the QR codes. One runs the videos through safeshare. The other is videos straight from youtube that may contain ads.
