Review the different types of Figurative Language as you're reading Patricia Cormack's story of childhood slavery, "Sold." This activity starts with a matching exercise; it requires students to match the Figurative Language type to its definition. Then it has 15 examples taken from the text to identify, discuss and review. Lastly, there is one constructed response example where students must identify the type of figurative language used and explain their thought process for this reasoning.
This activity covers pages 1-20.
