This is a set of Minions, each labeled as a different solfege syllable and doing the corresponding Curwen hand sign. In addition, they have some personality traits that match up to their syllable - ti, for example, is looking up at do! Also included are some large musical font letters that spell out MUSICAL MINIONS with a couple little minions popping out that your extra-inquisitive students who want to look at the letters up close can notice.
This idea is not entirely mine - I saw many bulletin boards that looked just like this on pinterest, but none of them incorporated Curwen hand signs, which I thought was a shame, so I drew up my own versions based on a popular Minion clip art design and made them do the correct hand signs.
This bulletin board is very useful! I had a first grade class that wasn't very excited about doing hand signs, but we took a close look at the bulletin board together and they noticed that the Minions were making hand signs, and their motivation skyrocketed. You can do a lot of really fun activities with these Minions to get your students excited about making hand signs. I said, "This one's name is Sol! Look how his hands are! When I call his name, can you put your hands like his?" It worked wonders with my students, and hopefully it will do the same for yours!
