This is a simple, fun, and zero prep activity for Spanish students to practice using and understanding the present perfect tense in an authentic and meaningful way.
Students "apply" for a job on either a cruise or at a camp. Students write sentences using mostly the present perfect to describe their experiences, and they put a "code name" on their paper that only they will recognize. (Directions and sentence scaffolds are included on the Powerpoint.) Collect the papers and redistribute amongst the class. Have groups of 3-4 students read their "applications" in groups and decide on the best candidate for the "job". Groups share with the class the candidate that they chose based on their code name, at which point the winning students can reveal themselves. I often give the chosen students candy or a prize for "getting the job". Students have a lot of fun with this and it generally takes about 30-40 minutes to fully complete.
