Here’s a great way to practice solid and plane shapes with your students.
12 page solid figure book – 1 cover page, 1 description page, 6 shape pages (student draw, describe attributes and list things of that shape), 1 fill in the blank attribute chart, 2 comparison pages (student write how 2 solids are the same/different) and 1 riddle pages. 1 copy will give you 2 books.
18 page plane shape book – 1 cover page, 1 description page, 10 shape pages (student draw, describe attributes and list things of that shape), 2 fill in the blank attribute chart pages, 3 comparison pages (student write how 2 plane shapes are the same/different) and 1 riddle pages. 1 copy gives you 2 books
2 pages write your own riddle – students write clues on the first page and draw and write the answer on the second page. 2 per sheet
15 solid/plane shape bingo cards (color and black and white). You can play with the included attribute cards (example: 4 equal sides, 4 corners), or matching shape cards or word cards. Cards are different, but sometimes result in more than 1 winner.
8 pages of calling cards (attributes, shape picture and shape word). You choose which cards you want to use. These cards can also be used for memory game.
2 pages 4-in a Row game (color and black and white). This is played like connect four. You use the bingo calling cards (plus some extra ones included) and again chose which way you want students to play (attributes, shape word, or picture of shape)
6 assessment pages. 4 pages are exit tickets (4 of the same printed on each page) and a 2 page 13 question mini assessment (fill in the chart, multiple choice, free response)
*solid figures covered: cone, sphere, cylinder, cube, rectangular prism, pyramid
*plane shapes covered: square, oval, circle, rectangle, triangle, octagon, pentagon, hexagon, rhombus, trapezoid.
