This activity asks students to analyze national data for categories of solid waste, the average amount of waste produced per person, and reflect on their own use. The second part requires students to get dirty - they need to put on gloves and conduct a waste audit for the school. This requires them to categorize the types of waste they come across, and come up with solutions for reducing the amount of waste for the school.
I have uploaded it in a .docx format so you can modify and differentiate it to meet your classroom and students' needs. Enjoy!
