This lab activity requires materials commonly found in most chemistry labs such as a safety goggles, a heat source like a bunsen burner or hot plate, test tubes, thermometers, beakers, water, and a soluble salt such as KNO3, Students will follow the procedure given to construct a solubility curve for the salt at different temperatures. Students will be required to record and plot their data, then answer questions pertaining to the lab activity and their interpretation of a solubility curve table which is provided in the activity.
This activity could be easily used for physical science students as well as chemistry students if the materials for the lab are available. An answer key to the questions is included in this zip file of materials. The student and teacher versions of the lab are posted in both docx and pdf format.
