This activity is a "Lab" series lesson activity designed to supplement and enhance student learning after teacher instruction.
In this "Lab" students will determine if the inequality will be graphed with a “solid” line or “dashed” line, and whether the inequality is shaded “above” or “below” the line. Then cut and match each of the inequalities with their correct graph on a set of index cards or a sheet of paper.
Answers can be recorded in one of three ways.
1) Students can cut, match, and glue to index cards to serve as study flash cards.
2) Students can cut, match, and glue to a separate sheet of paper.
3) Students can avoid cutting and pasting by matching the correct equation number and graph letter and turn in an answer key to the teacher.
While this "Lab" can supplement any teacher instruction based on this topic, this "Lab" was developed to supplement the Eureka math module 1 lesson 20 for Algebra.
