An introductory hands-on activity where students examine the solubility of different white powders commonly found in the grocery store. There is a simple teaching demonstration described and a mini-poster is presented where students glue the actual powders onto the poster. Two other activities are also included. Students test the solubility of sugar in water of different temperatures and test the solubility of sugar in different solutions.
