Product Description

“Solve the room” activities get students up and moving. Your kinesthetic learners will LOVE this! Choose which math skill you want for your class. Place the cards around the room. Students grab clipboards for their recoding sheets and walk around the room as they look for math cards. As each student finds a card, he/she solves the problem and writes the answer on the recording sheet. Display the answer key on your interactive whiteboard so that students can check their answers independently.

Switch it up, and keep them engaged.

  • Give your students magnifying glasses, and let them be detectives as they search for math questions.
  • Teach your students how to be “mimes”, and have them complete this activity in complete silence.
  • Encourage them to praise their peers with high fives while passing each other in the classroom.
  • Play more than one game at a time in order to have smaller “crowds” around each card. Games are color-coded, so you just need to let students know which colors to look for when they choose their games.

You can use the games several different ways:

  • Task cards in a center tub
  • Early finishers
  • Whole class “scoot” game
