Solve and Switch is a fun partner based cooperative learning strategy. Students sit in pairs with a set of task cards in between them. Each student takes a task card and independently solves the problem. Once both students are finished, they switch task cards and solve their new problem. Once both students have completed both questions, they check their answers.
This activity is a great practice activity that is not meant to be a grade. If a grade is needed, you can follow up with an independent assignment or quiz.
I have included a small set of task cards (double digit multiplication), but you can use the activity with any set of task cards you may already have.
This activity is easily differentiated, because you can provide students with task cards that best meet their level.
This activity can be used whole class, small group, or as a center activity.
