I made this graphic organizer to show the interrelationship between formulas to solve a triangle. The students will visually see that the Pythagorean Theorem and Sine/Cosine/Tangent formulas are special cases of the Law of Cosines and Law of Sines. Selection of which formula to apply is determined by the information given based on triangle congruence.
I have two options available to use. One version required the students to fill in the formulas and one version is complete with all the equations.
Formulas on this graphic organizer:
1) Triangle Sum Theorem
2) Right Triangle Corollary
3) Pythagorean Theorem
4) Trigonometric Ratios – Sine, Cosine, and Tangent
5) Law of Sines
6) Law of Cosines
The intent of this graphic organizer is to supplement your lesson.
This graphic organizer utilizes a full sheet of 8 ½ x 11 sheet of paper intended to be glued into interactive student notebooks (ISN) with two graphic organizers per page.
