Product Description
Solving Equations – Google Form with Jokes!

Activity Details:

Students are required to determine the solution of ten equations varying in difficulty. This may be done individually or as part of a group. Each correct answer reveals the answer to a silly joke.

I use this activity as part of my grade 7/8 solving equations unit. Here are the problems involved with this activity:

1) n + 4 = 11
2) n - 3 = -12
3) -3n = 18
4) n/2 = 10
5) 5n – 2 = 33
6) 7n + 3 = 38
7) 2/3 n -4 = 2
8) -7n + 9n = -100
9) 5(n+8) = 55
10) 12(3n + 2) = 120

This Google Form is set up similar to a breakout. Each question must be answered correctly in order for the next question to be attempted.

Have fun!
