This graphic organizer has two parts - a flowchart for solving equations with combining like terms and distributing, and translating words to math symbols for those pesky word problems! The key is included for each graphic organizer.
I used this after teaching two-step equations to my 7th grade students. I find that flowcharts tend to help them a lot in the beginning stages of equation-solving. I could see this also being used in an intervention or as review in 8th grade or Algebra 1.
The graphic organizer covers:
-Solving two-step equations (using backwards order of operations - PEMDAS)
-Solving equations when you have to distribute or combine like terms first
-Translating from words to --> addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, greater than or equal to, less than or equal to
