This is a super fun activity that I use as a review game for solving equations and inequalities. It is one of my students' favorites and can be edited to fit other concepts. Students work with up to 7 different partners and get to pick and choose from variety of activities. The game is fairly fast paced and keeps students moving and engaged the entire time. The problems mirror the Algebra I and Math 1 Common Core standards and EOC test. Detailed instructions of how the game plays is included.
There is a mix of free response, fill in the blank, graph the solution on the number line, and multiple choice questions regarding solving equations and solving inequalities.
The questions require to solve mult-step equations with the variable on both sides of the equation and also solve multistep inequalities with variables on both sides of the equation. The students also must write an inequality statement for some problems and match their solution to a graph. All questions mirror the types and formatting of questions the students will see on their EOC test.
There are two versions of the game: one version reviews solving equations and inequalities, and the second version reviews just solving equations. I did this to accommodate teachers who taught the material in one unit and those who taught solving equations separately.
I uploaded it as a Microsoft Word doc so that you can edit it. If you need it as a PDF please let me know. Thanks!
