*****Solving Equations with Variables on Both Sides Scavenger Hunt*****
The Activity includes the following:
~Teacher Directions and Answer Key
~Student Answer Sheet w/directions
~10 Equation Cards (in color)
~10 Solution Cards (in color)
The equations require students to solve equations with variables on both sides, including using the distributive property and combining like terms. These equations are ideal for 8th grade students. A great review resource before a quiz/test. May also be used for a review activity in Algebra before starting the year or an equations unit.
Print each question with the solution that follows either front-to-back or both on one sheet. Place the cards (with the questions facing out) around the room. Distribute the recording sheet to each student. Allow them to work in groups of 2-3. Assign them each a starting problem. Students will solve their assigned equation on their recording sheet. Once they complete their problem, they will search for their solution around the room. This leads them to the next problem they will solve. The students continue solving and searching for their solution until they have completed all ten problems.
