PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Your students will love this Carmen Mathiego scavenger hunt on solving one-step equations!

Students work in groups or individually to solve several problems involving solving one-step equations. (There are two different versions based on level of difficulty, so you can differentiate to meet the needs of all learners).

Every time a group solves a problem, they must search around the room to find the corresponding answer on an answer card. Each answer card will also list a city. Students cross off the cities as they go, and the last remaining city (that has no corresponding answer) is Carmen Mathiego's hiding place!

There is also an optional end piece to the activity where once a group determines the correct city that Carmen Mathiego is hiding in, they receive a warrant and must solve one final (more challenging problem) to apprehend her.

My students absolutely loved this activity and it was a great way to practice solving one-step equations! Enjoy!
