This product contains a 20 page algebra scavenger hunt in which students solve one and two step equations, and collect letters which create a "mystery math term".
This activity is very low prep - all you have to do is print the pages and hide/post around your room. Students can begin at any poster and they will know that they are finished of the hunt when they find their way back to the poster where they began. As I mentioned, students can also collect the letter on each poster and after they have found all of the letters, they can unscramble them to identify an algebra themed math term "numerical coefficient".
This activity is fun, engaging, and if students are familiar with this type of activity - perfect to leave for a guest teacher (just post the sheets around your room the day before).
This activity also allows the more able students the freedom to go at their own pace, while you can work with students who need extra help to solve the equations - great informal assessment tool.
I also have another great algebra themed math activity in my store that would pair well with this one, for students to work on when they finish the hunt - a "Solve and Flip" self-checking math activity.
Be sure to check it out!
