This product is a Scavenger Hunt Activity that will get Algebra students up and moving. It contains nine quadratic equations and functions in symbolic and graphical forms. Students will solve each equation using any convenient strategy, including factoring, applying the Zero Product Property, taking the square root, graphing, and using the Quadratic Formula. They will find the roots of the equation at another station, then solve a new quadratic equation. This process will continue until students have travelled to all nine stations.
My students enjoy scavenger hunts. They can travel with a small group or work independently. The problems promote discourse. Students record the problems and their solutions on the answer sheet. The letters to "EDGARTOWN" will be spelled out, backwards. This allows the teacher to check student accuracy, redirecting students to revise their work if appropriate.
