In this unit students will learn about solving quadratic and simultaneous equations. They will start by looking at quadratics and will learn three methods for solving them – factorising, completing the square and the quadratic formula, as well as learning to identify which quadratics cannot be solved. Students will then go on to look at simultaneous equations, starting with solving two linear equations simultaneously and moving on to the case of one linear and one non-linear equation.
