Solving Quadratics by Factoring Matching Activity
This is a matching activity covering solving quadratics by factoring. Factoring methods covered include difference of two squares, trinomials (a = 1), and greatest common factor. The activity comes in two sets that can be used separately or together. All equations that need to be solved look similar so as to add to the difficulty level of the activity. In addition, some equations are not set equal to zero.
Students show their work on a scratch piece of paper or a student white board working in pairs (recommended) or individually if preferred. Activity is written so that all you have to do is run off on card stock (and laminate if desired). Students can cut out for you. 2 pages total with 12 total questions. Directions and key included.
