This product is used to help students practice solving quadratic equations by factoring. The three methods that are covered in this resource are factoring when the leading coefficient is 1, not 1, and GCF. It can be used in a variety of ways. I like to copy them to the same page so that each student has the questions and solutions. They work at their own pace and once they find the correct solution they write that letter in the box with the question. This also makes grading and checking the work much faster. This could also be used as a card sort activity where you would cut out each square and students can work individually, in pairs, or with a group to match questions to solutions. Another option would be to have it as a station one day. That would eliminate some of the cutting but still have the students physically moving the pieces around. It could also be used as a race for groups to see who can find all of the correct matches first. I have even done a combination where some are card sorts for those that enjoy that and then I have copies of the handout for the students who prefer a worksheet. I like activities where students have access to the solutions but must match them to the problem. This helps to eliminate a lot of questions because you do not have to check their solution after each worked problem but they know if they are doing it correctly or not. If they find their solution then they know they are on the right track and if not, they will try again and ask for help if they are still struggling. Some students have told me this is their favorite kind of worksheet to get because they can self check.
