Solving Simple Equations - PowerPoint Presentation
This slideshow lesson was created for my Pre-Algebra and Algebra I classes. It is a fully animated presentation, providing definitions, examples, and practice problems.
In this lesson, students will be able to solve simple equations using addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using rational numbers.
The presentation has 16 slides. The slides are fully editable.
This PowerPoint lesson is unique because it can be used by the teacher for formal instruction, or can be used by the student as an introduction/review to the concept in a flipped classroom setting.
This presentation consists of an example of each of the 4 operations with step-by-step animation on how to solve and how to check that the solution is correct. Additionally, it includes an example using the multiplicative inverse for an equation with a fraction and an example of a geometry connection for setting up and solving an equation in finding the angles of a right triangle. The last 2 slides in the presentation are for student practice (4 additional examples with answers) and a editable HW slide for you to assign HW.
