The Solving Systems of Linear Equations by Substitution was created by Pupsaroni Puzzles for use in an Algebra 1 or Algebra 2 classroom during the Systems of Equations Unit.
There are 10 sets of equations that students should graph to find the solutions. This activity usually takes about 30 minutes if students are solving by substitution and on-task. Quick students finish in 15-20 minutes. Slower students can take a while (45 min +).
This scavenger hunt can be quickly spread around the room or hall, and students can immediately work and check their work with the provided answer key. This is a great activity for a math center or station, but can also be printed in smaller cards for a personal activity or a table-top group activity.
