In this hands-on activity, students will be introduced to the substitution method as they literally substitute (pick up and replace) expressions cards to solve systems of linear equations. A work page is included for students to record their new equations and show their work. There are 5 systems that students create using the cards and an extra for them to try to solve without having to physically substitute with the cards. This is an awesome visual for students who seem to have trouble understanding the idea of substitution. I hope you love it and I hope your students learn it!
