This matching activity is designed to help students practice using the substitution method to solve systems of equations. This is a three way matching activity. Student substitute one expression into the other equation then look for the matching equation. After working the problem, student then look for the matching solution point.
This activity is designed for differentiation. There are 2 levels, both have the same equations but one set (level 1) has one equation from each set already solve for a variable. While the other set has some equations set up and others that the students must solve for one variable or the other. Level one is great for beginners or special education students. While level 2 works is for on level students. I have included a page of “advanced” problems for your early finishers.
This item includes:
- 2 sets of 12 systems of equations (same systems in different formats)
- 4 nonlinear systems for advanced learners
- Answer Key
