This activity focuses on solving two-step equations by way of real-world application. Students will need to have knowledge of writing algebraic expressions from word problems, evaluating these expressions given an input value, and solving two-step equations. This activity also enlists the use of multiple representations because students will need to create a table and a graph that will coincide with their algebraic expressions. I've used this as an end of the unit project or as an in-class activity. This activity could also be great for introducing systems of equations by graphing.
I've assigned each question a point value to make grading this activity easier. You may use it if you'd like!!!
Also, here's a site where graph paper can be found if you don't have access to your own: https://www.mathworksheets4kids.com/grid/25by25-positive-noscale1.pdf
Hope you enjoy!!!
