I use these guided notes in conjunction with the Mathematics Vision Project Secondary Math 1 curriculum, Getting Ready chapter 1 lesson 4. Topics this covers are: Solving one variable equations and graphing linear equations in slope-intercept form.
I have used the first part of each example as an opportunity to directly teach the students, and then I use the second part of each example for the students to independently solve the problem in a small group or pair. I also assign students to fill in the answers to the question they worked on in small groups for a full class share.
I have also used this worksheet (separated by examples) as a centers activity. Example 1 is the first center, Example 2 is the second center, etc.
