My scavenger hunts are a great way to practice basic skills in a fun and active way.
Students walk around the room solving quadratics. All of the problems are factorable although it does not specify a method to use. The first two pages of the document are the student work pages. The rest of the pages should be posted around the classroom in a random order. (I like to print them on colored pieces of paper)
Students may start at any of the problems in the room. When they first get to the get to the problem, they should write down the letter that appears on the bottom of the page. Then they solve the problem in the work section. After solving, they walk around the room to find their answer on the top of one of the other pages. This is the problem they will solve next. Again, the student first writes down the letter on the page then they solve. All of the problems wrap around to each other with the exclamation point ending the riddle (which wraps to the first letter of the riddle).
This strategy is great for self-assessment and students have fun walking around the room.
