This product is a Powerpoint (and a pdf copy) that shows students how to make their own foldable about the three ways of solving systems of equations and the types of solutions possible.
The students will learn more when they create their own foldable rather than having one printed off for them. The students may follow the Powerpoint, or the Powerpoint may be printed off as directions (or both).
The foldable is a good way to see the 'big picture' in how the different procedures are related.
This Powerpoint includes 3 example problems for each method. One example is meant to be included in their foldable. The other two examples for each method are to help the student master the concepts. This Powerpoint is in a form that may be taught using the "New American Lecture" or "Interactive Lecture" strategy for teaching.
The lesson will take 50 to 90 minutes to complete depending on your class.
The students may use the foldable when completing other problems, and, at the teacher's discretion, may use it on a quiz or test. The foldable could be incorporated into an interactive notebook.
