LEARNING CENTER OR SMALL GROUP STUDY. Three section of sound experiments that can be conducted with simple materials. Tuning fork and stethoscope also required. Part I investigates the nature of sound, using a tuning fork to discover that in order to make a sound, objects must vibrate. Part II tests sound passing through solid objects by using a "sound cup" that the student may build, and by a stethoscope. Part III experiments with pitch, using bottles filled with different amounts of water.
