Directions: Print on cardstock and laminate. You may choose to separate number cards or may choose not too. Print students names and place on a small magnet or print pictures of students and put on a magnet. At the start of the day students will start underneath the Something to Tweet About. As students follow directions, do a kind act, or whatever you feel is appropriate for that child to move their magnet they will “earn points”. When you spot a student doing something you feel is noteworthy move their magnet to 1, then to 2, etc. You may choose for the students to earn the same item or different items depending on your class. If they earn the same class item then you can choose to print the number cards that do not have boxes. If different numbers earn different things keep the numbers with the boxes. Students should be earning sensory items or favorite items in the classroom. I choose not to give out snack foods as many students have allergies and food should not be an earn it item. Students will not lose these points. If a child misbehaves it should be handled immediately and then they have a fresh start again. This is a break time (I have two throughout my 2.5 hour day with my kids) to help students that need sensory and gross motor movement breaks. These breaks should be built into your schedule and should be as long as you feel is needed (our first break time is 20 minutes and our second is 10 minutes).
