Product Description

Distribute page of 10 statements about a function f(x). Students should work with groups of 2 to 4 students. The statements should be cut apart and the three statements cut apart at the bottom of the page.

Students should take the three labels SOMETIMES TRUE, ALWAYS TRUE, and NEVER TRUE and place them at the top of their desk. Students should study each statement and try to draw pictures of the described function to see if they believe the statement is always true, sometimes true, or never true. Students should also think of definitions or theorems that the statement might be describing to see if the full statement has been given or whether important parts have been left out. After careful consideration students should decide if the statement is SOMETIMES TRUE, ALWAYS TRUE, or NEVER TRUE and place the statement with its correct description. Students should be ready to support their final decision.
