Do your students enjoy making up lyrics to songs? Need to explain why some words just work and others ‘almost’ work? Using Mary Had a Little Lamb as a template, this packet will help beginners write, analyze and improve their lyric writing skills. Concepts explored include manipulation and use of syllables to the beat; meter with 4 beat measures; quarter, eighth and sixteenth notes and triplets; lyric structure; and accented/ stressed syllables.
