This is a way of having students exposed to examples of musical genres through chronological order.
These examples are by no means concrete and are made to be adapted each year.
These examples were chosen at random and the notes are scribbled examples.
There are 40 musical examples, starting from year 100 through 1981. This spreadsheet is meant to be used as reference to keep them in order and/or to keep in a sub binder so that the students' routine isn't disrupted.
This can be adapted for year-long use, semesters, quarters, months, or weeks.
Students keep a journal within the classroom that is filled out in conjunction with the song list. They are to analyze, comprehend, and respond to the music they are listening to.
