Product Description
Need ideas for teaching ta (quarter note) and ti-ti (eighth notes)? This comprehensive set has lots of materials to help you teach this concept, and includes:

*Five folk songs/chants for teaching ta and ti-ti, with notation and game directions ("Bee Bee," "Apple Tree," "We are dancing," "Bounce High," and "2, 4, 6, 8")
*Lessons and a worksheet for the book "Orange Pear Apple Bear," by Emily Gravett
*Ta and ti-ti learning center directions, including visuals for one of the centers
*Rhythmic flashcards for ta and ti-ti: Each page comes with two flashcards, which can be printed onto cardstock, cut into two (on the solid line), and laminated for frequent use. The flashcard set comes with 10 rhythmic patterns; with most of the patterns being commonly found in folk songs. The patterns are first written with noteheads, and then in stick notation (without noteheads). The flashcards can be used for reading practice, composition, instrument playing, transitions, and more!
*SMART Board File for labeling rhythmic form for "We are dancing"
*Paper airplanes PDF for reading ta and ti-ti patterns using a koosh ball or squishy ball:
just throw a squishy ball at your smart board or have students choose one from your computer, and read the pattern that comes up!
*Ta and ti-ti pre- and post-test, with answer key
*Picture worksheet: Can be used as an assessment with or without the learning centers
*Strategies for teaching ta and ti-ti

If you use alternate rhythm names, such as "du" and "du-day," you can still use all of the files, as the rhythm names aren't specified within the files.

Read some of the reviews:
"As usual, Aileen Miracle has provided an excellent resource for teachers in this product! The songs are fun and effective, movement activities allow students to "feel" the rhythms in an enjoyable way, and the assessments are thorough and easy to use! Great resource!"

"A fantastic resource. The children thoroughly loved using it, as did the teacher!"

"As always, an enormous wealth of information and resources here. I bought this to go along with your concept plan packs and I can't wait to use these... I'm very particular about how things look and your materials are exactly what I had in mind! Thank you for sharing these products to help make like a little bit easier for the rest of us. :)"
